Delmarva Section Royal Rangers Vision and Goals

Vision

The Delmarva Section Royal Rangers will see new boys added, boys coming to Christ and growing in the Lord, learning new skills and earning merits, and being challenged to become leaders in the body of Christ. Leaders will also be developing their skills, growing in their relationship with Christ, and being fulfilled as they see the result of the work the Lord has given them.

Goals

• Add 2 outposts in 2006 (VCF — Dover, and 1 other)

• Each Outpost have one or more boys come to Christ in 2006

• Each Outpost increase the average number of merits their boys are achieving

• Increase the training level of our leaders (assess beginning of year and end of year)

• Add new boys and leaders from our section to the ranks of the FCF

 Officer’s Goals

Training Goals for 2007 – Davey Deller

For the year 2007, I would like to see a regular schedule of courses become available throughout the Delmarva section. I believe that no matter what a commander’s experience is, there is always room for improvement. Continuing training is like keeping your tools sharp. I am going to try to implement a system that makes it easy to keep track of all of the training our commanders have had, and the modules that they need. I would also like to see more commanders qualify to become instructors so that modules can be taught on an outpost level, and to relieve the burden of the few instructors that we have. Our ultimate goal is for every commander to earn the LMA, and to have the confidence to Reach, Teach, and Keep boys for Christ. I believe that by making our modules more readily available, more commanders will invest the time to become trained in the Royal Rangers ministry.

FCF Goals for 2007 – Gordon “BASS” Edwards

I would like to see more boys enter the ranks of the FCF in our Section. That is a given. Personally I want to give the FCF more recognition at Sectional events, such as Pinewood derby, Sectional pow-wows, and other events.

I also want to visit Churches in the area to give them a first hand experience of what FCF is all about. Showing them through slide presentations and personal one-on-one with the boys that are of the proper age group. Taking items with me to those Churches and putting on somewhat of a show. I personally have numerous pictures from past FCF events and can show them in a slide show. The ultimate goal is for the boys and the whole Ranger program to “KEEP” them involved in the Ministry.

Open Postions

Secretary/Treasurer — Keep minutes of meetings, collect the funds at sectional activities and be a 2nd set of eyes on our finances

Programs/Activities Coordinator — Works with those interesting running activities to insure actvities are scheduled at good times for all participating churches, fits the overall RR calendar well and reviews plans to insure the event is well-planned. Helps to set the calendar of events to provide the proper balance of activities for all ages, especially the RK. Calendar for 2007 to be in rough draft form for the fall sectional meeting.

Training Coordinator — find out what the outposts needs are and work to coordinate training that meets those needs. Encourage outpost leaders to increase their skills and take advantage of various training camps.

Outreach Coordinator — Get a vision and help the section fulfill our goal of “Reaching” new boys for Christ. May include working to make one of our activities (Events) more evangelistic.

Please let me know if one of your leaders or you would like to take 1 of the above 4 postions.

Sectional Activities – Review and Look Ahead

PineWood Derby — well attended, a little profit, need to get kids building cars earlier, video clips were interesting, Doug Revell did a great job announcing, and kids need to have some alternative activites to do. Victory will be purchasing a 4 lane track for use in future PineWood Derbys..

BB Gun Competition — Not as well attended, a small loss, publicity needs to get out earlier (done repeatedly for about 6 weeks before the event), it was a bad weekend for Victory

May 20 — “Ranger Kids Safety Field Day” — leader Jaque Harrington, Flyer attached

May 26,27 — “The Big Guns and Rocketry Adventure” — Discovery, Adventure, Expedition — leader Steve Steffel, Flyer attached — Please check to see if this date on Memorial Day weekend is a problem and provide some quick feedback.

Aug 21, 2006 — Next Sectional Leaders Meeting

Please review the calendar for many other acitivities sponsored by region, district and national.

July 17-21 — National Camporama — Rebecca Whetstone mentioned that Victory has purchased 3 new diesel 32 person buses that can be used to take boys and leaders to Camporama. Dwight Walters volunteered Doug Revell to work on coordination for the Section if various outposts would like to go together and plan stops that the boys would like.

Section Goals

• Add 2 outposts in 2006 (Victory is starting one at their church in Dover)

• Each Outpost see boy(s) come to Christ

• Each Outpost increase the number of merits their boys are achieving

• Increase the training level of our leaders

• Add new boys and leaders to the ranks of the FCF

CPR/First Aid Training
Dave Vozenilek, our past Sectional Commander is a certifed Red Cross instructor and is willing to give the course for around $10 per person if we can schedule a class that works with his schedule.

Please Promote these two events
Flyers for “Ranger Kids Safety Field Day” (May 20) and “The Big Guns and Rocketry Adventure” (May 26, 27) are attached.
